Ohio’s public schools are under threat.  A recent state law, SB 70, also known as “The Youngstown Plan,” brings into question the continued viability and improvement of our public school systems.

If you care about Ohio’s educational (and economic) future; if you care about the educational success of our children, join us for a panel of educators and public officials who can help us understand the issues around this new law. We will also explore how we might stop Ohio’s educational decline and advocate for good public schools for all of our children.

Panel

Antoinette Miranda, Ph.D.: Description of SB70 and interpretation/implication of failing Report Cards

Michaela Burriss: Impetus for SB 70 and status of opposing lawsuit

Allison Russo, Ph.D.: Legislative climate and future directions

Jeanne Melvin: Effect of "Youngstown Plan" on Youngstown schools and students
