The Obama Campaign in UA: What's Going On?

Currently, UA for Obama has an office, three teams in UA south of Henderson, and two teams in the northwest area north of Henderson. The office is at the corner of Dierker and Henderson Roads, in the former Bloomtastic, 4939 Dierker Rd, just behind City Barbeque. Anyone wanting to stop by the office for an hour to volunteer would be warmly received. The office also needs a steady stream of healthy salads to keep the Field Organizers and phone bankers going.

The Obama campaign has a great need for people in UA to take in Out Of State volunteers who will be showing up from now on and staying through the election. Those interested in providing two weeks to six weeks of housing should contact Lisa Howard, UA office manager, at 614-364-3234.

The teams all have upcoming team meetings, which is a great way to get connected with your team. The next meeting for Team East (Ward 3) will be on Wednesday, September 19 at 7pm, at the Cartwright/Guttenberg residence, 2280 Canterbury Rd.  For Team Southwest (Wards 1 and 2), the upcoming team meeting is also at the Cartwright/Guttenberg residence, at 7pm on Wednesday, September 26. Team UA-Kenny is also meeting on Wednesday, September 26, at the home of Wanda Carter, 3437 Castleton Rd., at 7pm. Team UA-Kenny currently covers Wards UA 4, 5, and 6, and Columbus 70.

Each team is having the boots-on-the-ground organizing events that are going to turn UA blue. Each team has a canvass and a phone bank every week. There are still persuadables here in UA, and it's the campaign's job to find previously unknown Obama supporters, make sure they're registered, and make sure they vote.

There will be no do-overs, and the only way to make sure President Obama is re-elected is to get involved now!
