Who will forget that moment during President Obama’s State of the Union when his voice rang out, over and over: “They deserve a vote. They deserve a vote. They deserve a vote.” Now it is time for our progressive voices to ring out. Here is how you can join in the righteous chorus:
Day of Action, Friday, Feb. 22. A group is going to visit Senator Rob Portman at 10:30 a.m. to urge him to support the President’s gun violence proposals, in particular mandatory background checks. Your job that day is to call his office at 614-469-6774 so your comments will be noted and compiled. They will ask for your name, address and maybe even your telephone number and email address. The goal is for 1,000 constituents to get their views expressed.
All Ohio Rally for Sensible Gun Laws, Saturday, Feb. 23. Join in 11 a.m.-Noon, Columbus City Hall, 90 W. Broad Street, Columbus 43215.
