Dear Friend:
It is not every day that a group of Upper Arlington’s former mayors, Republicans and Democrats, join together to write a letter to you. But these are extraordinary circumstances.
We are writing to you because you have a serious task ahead.
You may not realize that on November 6th, you will help to determine the direction of the city of Upper Arlington. Our city is at a cross-roads – our city council will either continue to make Upper Arlington an outstanding place to live, work and raise a family, or we will become less competitive and Upper Arlington will lose out to areas around us.
You will make the decision about which direction our city will go, and your vote on November 6th will be a critical one in deciding our city’s future.
This year, there are three candidates who have the experience, knowledge and ability to work together to solve our city’s problems -- both for today and tomorrow. Their diverse backgrounds, life experiences and philosophies will be a tremendous benefit to our city. With many years in elected public service and commitment to the Upper Arlington community, we are proud to support the following candidates:
Mary Ann Krauss has been on City Council for the last four years, and her measured leadership, good decision-making and commitment to the long-term future of the city has been outstanding. A 41-year resident, she served eight years on the Board of Education. As a co-founder of the Burbank Early Childhood School and a former trustee of First Community Village, she believes in serving the needs of our youngest residents to our oldest.
Ed Seidel has been on City Council for the last four years - President of Council for the last two - and was an elected member of the Upper Arlington School Board for eight years before that. Ed has lived in Upper Arlington almost all his life, and has been an active volunteer in community activities for over two decades. He graduated from Upper Arlington High School, as did his two grown daughters.
Erik Yassenoff has significant professional experience working on economic development issues. Erik worked five years for the United States’ Congress, two years for the Ohio Department of Development, and four years as a property manager. His expertise at the state and federal levels will help us continue Upper Arlington’s economic strength.
While these three public servants do not agree on everything, they are the candidates with the vision and leadership to make the best decisions for our city.
Please vote for these outstanding public servants on November 6th.
Sincerely,
|
